It's my birthday season, I'm super excited because this wasn't such a great year and things started looking up this month. I'd like to share an updated blogpost from where I was at last year! Read full article here . It's funny how I wrote that blogpost on this day last year, a whole year has passed. So far, I have gone 2 sizes up, my skin has a horrible rash that has reduced my short dress wearing, but the ribbon is that I have the best friends in the world and I'm actually progressing in my career. I still Listen to CTRL by SZA, my favorite song is Garden and the current song that explains my life is 20 something!  For my birthday this year, I'd be travelling to Abuja to pay Bidemi and Visit, maybe I'd be able to get an article out of her. I intend to go hiking, partying and just rest. I look forward to another amazing year of laughter, Joy, More money and more money. I have attached a recent photo of me, covered H2T!

Hello Everyone,  Trust you are well.  Gentle reminder on the approval of the June content calender, we need to kick off this week. Best Regards.... I usually have everything all planned out, but the kind of turn my life took in May 2018, really surprised me.  Let's do a quick recap; I have finally spent one year at a job! - It's the little things I'm single - Men are what? ---- I recovered from chicken pox only to have skin infection after - No more Black Girl Magic! My Office moved to VI - Lagos 1 - Boluwa 0.  My Dad is turning 70 - Small Girl, Old Dad  You see, the last 2 months have been the worst yet, in my entire life, there's no more black girl magic. I know it will pass, I know I will look back and laugh, I overcome, It's a my trait, but damn girl! can't things get better? I have suffered in this life, what is it? I have had the hardest time with my relationships, work is so interesting and fulfilling but there are logistics facto...

I Sell Clothes Now, Come and Buy!

Hello Everyone, Somewhere in between marketing, account management, and campaign management, I found something that gives me pleasure. Many people do one thing that scares them daily, but I like to do mine weekly/monthly and it's shopping. I actually hate shopping, I don't like any kind of market too. When I started my business I had just NGN10,000 to start things up. This covered costs for shopping, dry cleaning, and packaging. So far, I have made over NGN50,000 in revenue and N30,000 in profit. The plan was to tie money down, before spending recklessly. One thing you should know before you start your business is that you need to properly plan financially and set a standard you can follow through. I spend a lot of my time creating content for my business page, just like the blog I'm not as committed but it's something that really makes me happy. Please check out my store on IG @_the2kshop_ The next plan is to be a vendor at a trade fair or shopping party. Do you have ...

About the Beauty Behind the Madness

''Secure your wig! Secure your wig!'' Uju screamed! This might just be the intro for my biography! But let's not talk about that today, let's talk about depression and anxiety. I like to shy away from the topic because it opens fresh wounds, but today I will touch on it just a bit. We will start with Depression for dummies, what to say and what not to a person battling with depression. What not to a person battling with depression.  1. If you are suicidal just kill yourself!  2. Snap out of it, it's not that deep. 3. You are using it as an excuse 4. I see no reason why you should be depressed. 5. Can't you just  be happy? All the things listed above have been said to me, because I speak a lot about Mental health and Depression. So don't say I'm dramatic. Things to say: I'm here if you need anything! What would you like to talk about? If you can't talk to someone without  making them feel like they put themselv...

About The Book That Changed My Life.

Image
If I had to do a book about my life what moments will make it? Will it be everything I can remember or those special moments, like when I quit my job and the first time I almost died? I thought as I rode on a bike in a city I had never been. I was scared, about how temporary people are. I took a trip to see my friend who needed us more than ever. My favorite kind of people are interesting ones with a lot of stories and experiences to share, that’s probably why I love autobiographies so much. I knew reading a book a month will strengthen my mind and change my life some how, didn't know it will happen so soon. As my book for the Month of March I selected 'We're Going To Need More Wine by Gabby Union' and it changed my life. There are two things I’ll start doing more after reading “We're going to need more wine” 1.  Be more involved in Mentor-ship programs. To start teaching younger women the things I know; career wise, prep them for their own career. ...

It’s a blog post about light and blinds and how I’m still in bed at past 8.

For the first time in a long time, I slept at 9pm and woke up at 7am. This life is really sweet when you house is 20mins away from the office. Wait! My house is still far from the office, but today I’m working from Ogba. Strolling out of the house at 9am for my 10 o’clock meeting. I’m happy and this small moment of Happiness I’m holding on to it. I have finally decided to join a gym, and I already feel great about the decision. That’s all I could write before going to steal jeans from my sisters room. Bye. Currently reading: Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson.

Hello March!

Image
After a long break, I decided to write something about trials and error. The last few weeks have been very challenging and I'm coming out on top. It's really gotten me excited about becoming more financially stable and finding something to invest my money in. Something I never thought I'll do was to start my business and I won't be offering a service. This March is the month of new things starting in my life and I'm super excited about it. I'll be launching my own online store where you can get lovely tops and dresses. I launch this week and it's very affordable and decent. Kindly show some love and support by following my page on Instagram. _The2kshop_ Thank you for the support so far, I promise to write more when my campaign is over.

Let's review the article I wrote last year about my goals for 2017. All parts of the 2016 article is in italics, my updated comments are not. Enjoy! Like every new month, a new week and new chapter in my life, I set realistic goals for myself. That's why I'm a big fan of new year resolutions. This year I have set some major goals for myself. In 2015, my major goal was to finish uni and get a job at cool FM - which I did. In 2016, It was to finish NYSC, Build relationships, get my first full-time job and develop a saving culture.  - I did. In 2017:  My career growth, Body & Wellness and my Finances. Career is blossoming, Body is sexy but not fit and Finances are getting by. We all talked about saving 1k daily to reach a goal of 365k by the end of the year - That didn't happen, I saved and got myself a phone and stopped saving after. 2017 Resolutions - HOW DID IT GO Body & Wellness - I took my skin seriously, I stopped working out in April,...
